How to make the right decision

the 35,000 Daily Choices

While the soul requires Dharma (righteousness), the brain requires strategy. Studies show that we make an average of 35,000 decisions daily. As the day goes on, our ability to make good choices drops little by little—a phenomenon known as decision fatigue. our many decisions based on our past experiences

To protect your energy and make the best choices, you can follow these practical steps:

  1. Tackle the Top 20% in the Morning: Your 20% most important decisions dictate 80% of your life and work results. This is why successful mentors say to wake up early and tackle major tasks first. By the afternoon, your critical 20% decisions are already made, and the remaining 80% of minor decisions can be delegated to others or deferred.
  2. The Elimination Tournament: When faced with multiple options (Option 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), don’t look at them all at once. Compare Option 1 vs. Option 2. If Option 1 wins, compare it against Option 3. Keep moving the “winner” forward until you have a final choice.
  3. The Best/Worst Case Scenario: If you are torn between two fantastic options, look at the extremes. What is the absolute worst that can happen with each choice? What is the absolute best? Choose the path where you feel most at peace with both the risks and the rewards.
