how to stop overthinking and make decisions faster

Stop Playing Scientist and Just Make a Move
Look, overthinking is just a fancy word for being scared. That’s it. You’re not being “diligent,” you’re not “doing your research”—you’re just terrified of looking stupid if you get it wrong.
But here’s the reality check: Doing nothing is actually the worst mistake you can make. While you’re sitting there weighing the pros and cons for the 50th time, someone with half your talent just passed you because they were brave enough to be wrong.
If you want to start moving like a boss, you gotta change the way you look at choices.
1. The “Who Cares?” Filter If this decision won’t matter in a week, why are you spending more than 60 seconds on it? Pick the chicken or the steak. Pick the blue or the black. Just pick. You’re bleeding mental energy on trash, and it’s leaving you exhausted when the big stuff actually hits.
2. 70% is Plenty Stop waiting for a sign from the universe or “perfect” data. It’s never coming. If you’ve got about 70% of the info, pull the trigger. You can fix a “bad” decision once you’re moving, but you can’t fix a parked car. Action gives you answers that thinking never will.
3. Set a Timer or Get Out Give yourself a deadline that actually hurts. Tell yourself, “I have 10 minutes to decide on this project or I’m not allowed to eat lunch.” Force your brain to stop looping and start executing.
4. Failure isn’t Fatal The reason you’re overthinking is because you think a “wrong” move is the end of the world. It’s not. It’s just a data point. You make a move, you see what happens, you adjust. That’s the whole game.
Stop trying to see the finish line from the starting blocks. You can’t. Just take the first step and figure out the rest while you’re running.
Speed is everything. Get out of your head and get into the game.
